Our Story
Built on Handshakes, Sustained by Results
In 1947, George Auerbach — a Brooklyn Law School grad and World War II veteran — was invited into the box business by a friend. After early partnerships, he and Irving Friedlander opened a warehouse in Long Island City, NY, stocking boxes and twine for New York's garment industry.
By 1970, George's son Russell had joined, driving dramatic growth through weekly visits to Garment Center customers. In 1993, Brian Auerbach joined Russell, bringing the company into the modern era and expanding to the West Coast by 2023 — servicing nine major U.S. markets.
In 2024, Jake and Dylan Auerbach joined to lead the next chapter, expanding into new industries while staying rooted in the company's four-generation tradition of excellence.

Our History

George's oldest child Russell joins the business. His weekly visits to customers at the Garment Center fuel dramatic growth through word of mouth and lasting relationships.
Brian Auerbach joins forces with Russell, bringing a vision for growth and expansion. By 2023, Better Pak expands to the West Coast, opening a warehouse in Los Angeles and servicing customers in nine major U.S. markets.
Jake and Dylan Auerbach join Better Pak Container, continuing the family legacy alongside Brian and Russell. They lead expansion into food & beverage and pharmaceutical sectors while honoring the company's four-generation tradition of excellence.
